JEJEMON THE CONQUEROR

CHRISTELE FAITH INGOSAN
Everyone’s looking at them. Some are crazy wanting to be one of them. Others are annoyed, wondering what’s wrong with them and how they spread their diseases.
Jejemon, the newest culture which is very popular today. It is said to be the new breed of of youngsters who developed their own language, written text and new fashion style.
Jejemon came from the combined word ‘jeje’, the way they laugh through text, and ‘–mon’ from the Japanese word which means monster.

They are most known from their slang languages, mix Filipino and English languages, short spelled words or more often called as wrong spelled words in texting.

Everywhere you go, your eyes can catch new style of dressing. What you see are jejemons’ fashion. They wear large caps known as jeje caps that suit baggy shorts or pants, jersey, single earring and chains which they think as cool.

You pass by someone whose music are irritating to the ears, well he is a jejemon. They love listening to music such as rocks and raps.

With just one look, they are being imitated . That’s their way of conquering.
